A common problem with pillows
We humans vary widely in our different shapes and sizes, and the apparel industry has done a good job of providing different sizes to satisfy individual needs whether it be shoes, pants, shirts, hats, etc. In contrast, pillows are usually offered in one height within any particular manufacture's selection. The length and width of pillows have been adequate to satisfy most users needs, but the lack of height selection is a problem for most of us. A large person, must be satisfied with the same pillow that a small person might choose. This approach by the pillow manufactures of a "one height fits all", has left most of us with improper head support during our sleep period. The other factor in regards to the height of support, is the interaction between the type of fill used in the pillow, and the weight of a particular person's head and neck. With these factors in mind, the odds of a particular user being satisfied with the height of their pillow, are base upon the user having just the right anatomical size and head weight. Below, are diagrams depicting different sleeping heights with varying support heights.
